The player was impressive during the World Cup

Jurgen Klopp is keen to bolster the Liverpool squad this summer in order to compete for silverware in the upcoming season. Liverpool Chairman Tom Werner admitted that the manager will be given transfer funds to add reinforcements in the transfer window.

The Reds have already completed the signing of Fabinho from Monaco, Naby Keita from RB Leipzig, Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke city and Alisson Becker from Roma. But they are aware of the need for further reinforcements if his side are to close the gap to remain competitive.

Klopp is looking for defensive reinforcements and has been linked with a move for Domagoj Vida for the past couple of weeks. He is desperate to splash the cash to mount a Premier League title charge in the upcoming season.

The Croatia International joined Besiktas from Dynamo Kyiv for an unknown fee, signing a four-and-a-half-year contract in the January transfer window. He has been a regular for the since joining them.

The 29 year old made 32 appearances in all competitions for both the clubs during the 2017/2018 campaign.

The defender has been one of the standout players for Croatia in this year’s World Cup and helped his nation to reach their first World Cup final ever. But they were defeated by France in the final match of the tournament.

And Vida’s agent Ugur Avadan has revealed that Liverpool with other few clubs have made offers for his client.

Speaking on Radyospor as quoted by Express, Avadan said: “It is normal for there to be interest what is important is that the offers satisfy Besiktas and then Vida.

“Liverpool and Everton are huge clubs that have made offers.

“Barcelona scouted Vida and had him on their shortlist but I do not see a move there happening.

“Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are also interested from Spain”
