Charlie Nicholas believes Liverpool’s dominant charge in the Premier League will be broken by Wolves on Thursday.
The Reds hold a 13-point lead at the top of the table with two games in hand. If they were to lose against the Wanderers, it would be their first in the division.
So far, Jurgen Klopp’s men have not slipped even once while the rest of the league continue to struggle with consistency. While it is largely Liverpool’s title to lose, they are still being heavy favoured to earn the Invincible tag after the full 38 games. However, Nicholas believes the trip to Molineux will be where they falter.
“This is a cracking game and Liverpool will be on such a high,” Nicholas told Sky Sports. “I genuinely thought Liverpool looked tired and leggy, especially at the end, against Manchester United. Have they enough to come in and cover this one up?”
He added, “Wolves relish the games against the top-six sides. Wolves looked assured at Anfield but got nothing from it. Klopp may make some changes and it could disrupt them a little bit.”
Wolves are pretty fatigued themselves with the second-busiest schedule in the Premier League this season after the visitors. But it is always a tought task to visit their turf and face off againts Nuno Santo’s resolute side.
