Atalanta are not in the mood to sell Ederson who moved to the Serie A club in 2022.
Liverpool are keen to get the signature of Atalanta BC midfielder Ederson. However, they could face competition from Newcastle United. The Magpies are also looking to sign the 24-year-old attacker.
Ederson completed his signing for Salernitana in the winter transfer window of 2022. He played just half a season and made the summer move to Atalanta in the same year.
Ederson has been a key figure in Gian Piero Gasperini’s side and has scored six goals and an assist in 27 appearances so far. As per the reports of Italian news outlet La Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Reds will face the task with Newcastle, Barcelona and Manchester United in a race to sign the Brazilan.
Meanwhile, Atalanta are not in the mood to sell their star midfielder. Teun Koopmeiners is also strongly linked with a move to Juventus. On the other hand, Liverpool signed too many midfielders like Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch this season.
Ederson can add value to the Reds with a defensive capacity. Meanwhile, Liverpool are also looking at Shakhtar Donetsk’s defensive midfielder Georgiy Sudakov.
Newcastle are also in the search for a central midfielder. Sandro Tonali is currently serving a ban for betting-related offences. They need an ideal replacement for him.
