Liverpool are finally ready to part ways with Marko Grujic provided Atletico Madrid agree to pay £34.7m (€40m) for the midfielder.

Jurgen Klopp would happily sanction the sale if his valuation of the player is met. The 23-year-old has racked up 4 goals in 18 appearances for Hertha Berlin this season.

He is currently on loan with the Bundesliga outfit for the entire 2018/19 campaign. Hertha coach, Pal Dardai has hailed Grujic as the club’s ‘best midfielder in 20 years’.

Such high praise will give you an understanding of how much of a success Grujic has been at Berlin. He was Klopp’s first signing at Liverpool for £5m and in a surprising turn of events his value has also skyrocketed after just one season.

Grujic has not registered a single Premier League game for the Reds even after moving to Anfield back in 2016. He spent time with Red Star Belgrade and Cardiff City on loan before making the switch to Hertha last summer.

Atletico Madrid are expected to lose out on Rodri after this season as Manchester City are plotting a £60m raid. ESPN claims that Diego Simeone’s side has recognized Grujic to be one of the top replacements in the central midfield post.
