Liverpool needs to find a replacement for struggling Andrew Robertson.

The 29-year-old has started all seven Premier League games for Liverpool this season and has been one of the key players for Jurgen Klopp over the years.

He went on to win every possible trophy with the Merseyside club since his arrival from Hull City in 217.

Ex-Reds winger Jermaine Pennant believes the Scottish left-back has entered the twilights of his career.

In the summer window, Robertson was on Real’s list of potential left-back targets but the Spanish club never made a formal bid.

Pennant said: “The only weakness I can see, and people may think I’m mad for saying this, is Andy Robertson. I’d like to see Liverpool move for a better left-back in January.

“He’s been a great servant for Liverpool, but I think he’s moving to the end of his career now. I think another attacking left-back will be needed.

I would have been happy with Joao Cancelo as he can play on the right or left. I was disappointed Liverpool didn’t move for him, but I’m sure their recruitment team have other irons in the fire.”
