Liverpool has earmarked struggling Man City midifelder in the January transfer window.

The 27-year-old midfielder has been restricted to only 21 appearances last season but he still wants to fight for his place at the Etihad.

Kalvin Phillips has struggled to fulfill his potential due to injuries and the recent form of Rodri has made it difficult for the Englishman to earn starts.

According to several reports, Liverpool have reignited their interest in the English midfielder and could make an offer this January.

The £150,000-a-week midfielder is definitely struggling at the Etihad and a move to Jurgen Klopp’s side would be ideal for his career.

The England international could be the ideal partner for Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister if he manages to regain his form and confidence.

Phillips wants to earn some more minutes so that he can earn a spot in the England squad for the upcoming European Championships.

Darren Bent has said on talkSPORT: “Yeah, potentially. Because I think Kalvin Phillips would be disciplined enough to just sit there and know his role.

“He’s a good player. He’s not going to make them weaker. It makes them stronger because Mac Allister would then move into his more natural position.”
