Liverpool top target Carlos Vinicius enticed by new €120m release clause deal

Liverpool is in need of a striker – even though they have two star strikers already. So what is the need, really?

Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah might be on their way to becoming legendary strikers for the Reds. However, Liverpool must have a third – back up striker, if you must. Mane and Salah cannot play in each and every game.

Moreover, Salah is set to miss upto 4 months due to Olympics. Jurgen Klopp’s side will greatly benefit with a third striker to play alongside Mane when Salah is missing.

And that’s the biggest reason why Liverpool is targetting Benfica star Carlos Vinicius. He is the perfect fit for the Reds in terms of skills and abilities.

The 25 year old striker has been in stellar form at Benfica this season and has certainly caught the eye of several clubs, Liverpool being one of them.

According to TransferMarkt, Vinicius has scored 20 goals and had 12 assists in 36 appearances across all competitions – impressing Benfica themselves.

Unfortunately for Liverpool, Benfica have realised the potential of the young striker and have offered him a new deal – complete with a €120m release clause. Looks like Liverpool has to fight for their way in if they want to convince Vinicius on their side!
