Liverpool Veteran Unsure About Contract Extension

Liverpool veteran, James Milner is not too sure about his future with the club.

The 33-year-old is an important figure in the Reds dressing room but he is also entering the twilight of his playing career.

He has so far made 188 appearances for Liverpool, recording over 40 games per season since arriving from Manchester City in 2015. His contract is set to expire by the end of this campaign.

“Who knows, you know?” Milner said at a press conference ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League clash with Genk. “There have been talks so hopefully, it gets resolved sooner rather than later. But at this moment I will just keep playing football as well as I can.”

“I think as a player you want to play as many games as you can,” Milner continued. “Every time you get that chance to go out there and perform, you need to do it to the best of your ability and make it difficult for the manager to leave you it.

“We have a strong squad of players and the competition is strong in every position and that is what we need to push each other to perform. Having a lot of games is what happens when you’re successful, we are lucky enough to have been that (successful) and we are still in all the trophies. We go out there to win every game that we can so we will try to do that.”
