Liverpool are fearing that Jurgen Klopp would leave the club as the German is stalling contract talks.

Several reports of Liverpool rewarding Jurgen Klopp a new contract arose following the club’s Champions League victory.

Jurgen Klopp joined Liverpool in October 2015 following the sacking of Brendan Rodgers. His arrival has turned Liverpool’s fortunes completely.

Klopp has transformed Liverpool to a club hunting for a top four Premier League position to a club hunting for the Premier League titles.

Last season was undoubtedly Liverpool’s finest this decade as they won the Champions League and lost the Premier League by just one point. Klopp also ended his hoodoo in Cup finals by the Champions League win.

Klopp already has a contract until 2022 with Liverpool but the club wants him to sign a new contract. However, the German is stalling this according to The Sun.

Fenway Sports Group, the company that owns Liverpool, wants Klopp to sign a new 6-year contract which would see him earn £10 million a year, 3 million more than his current salary.

There is no doubt that Klopp is arguably the best manager in the world at the moment and many top clubs will be interested in signing him. Liverpool’s board are keen to thwart interest from other clubs by convincing Klopp to sign a new contract.

Few months back, Klopp hinted at the possibility of managing Bayern Munich provided the timing was correct. Bayern legend Franz Beckenbauer even said some time back that he would like Klopp to manage the club.
