Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold has reportedly made an £80 million offer to buy Ligue 1 side FC Nantes, signaling a bold move off the pitch for the 25-year-old.

According to a French outlet, the Liverpool vice-captain has entered talks to potentially take over the French club as its current owner, Waldemar Kita, considers a sale.

Kita is believed to be willing to sell due to ongoing challenges related to French football’s TV rights and stadium redevelopment issues.

Trent Alexander-Arnold Disappointed In Himself

Alexander-Arnold, already a minority stakeholder in the Alpine Formula 1 team alongside Hollywood figures like Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, seems eager to expand his investment portfolio into football.

The discussions reportedly include the Liverpool defender‘s father, though a deal is said to be far from simple. A proposed £80m guaranteed amount, combined with additional bonuses, forms the heart of the offer, but complications could arise from Kita’s desire to recoup his own investment in the club.

Despite the optimism surrounding the talks, there remains skepticism. James Pearce of The Athletic has cast doubt on whether a formal bid has been submitted, emphasizing the uncertainty of the deal going through.

Nevertheless, if Alexander-Arnold were successful, it would mirror the steps taken by other football stars like Kylian Mbappe, who owns stakes in French second-division club SM Caen.

As FC Nantes’ future ownership remains uncertain, one thing is clear: Trent Alexander-Arnold is determined to make his mark both on and off the football field.
