The Brazilian shot-stopper, widely regarded as one of the world’s best, has been linked with a move away from Anfield despite being under contract until 2027.

According to reports from Turkish outlet Sabah, Galatasaray are preparing for life after veteran goalkeeper Fernando Muslera, who is expected to leave at the end of the season.

To strengthen their chances of landing Alisson, the Istanbul-based club is reportedly enlisting the help of Liverpool goalkeeping coach Claudio Taffarel, a former Galatasaray legend.

Taffarel, who won the UEFA Cup with Galatasaray during his playing days between 1998 and 2001, has allegedly been “instructed” to persuade Alisson to make the switch to Turkey.

The 32-year-old Brazil international is seen as a top replacement for Muslera, who has served as Galatasaray’s first-choice goalkeeper for over a decade but is set to depart to reunite with his family in Uruguay.

The speculation surrounding Alisson comes amid a period of uncertainty for Liverpool’s goalkeeping department. Backup keeper Caoimhin Kelleher is also considering his future at the club, with the Republic of Ireland international eager for more regular first-team opportunities.

Kelleher has stepped up in Alisson’s absence due to injury and performed admirably, but reports suggest he may seek a move elsewhere if Liverpool cannot provide assurances of increased game time.

Meanwhile, the Reds are preparing for the arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia at the end of the season. The 23-year-old Georgian goalkeeper is expected to compete for the starting role, with current third-choice keeper Vitezslav Jaros also impressing in limited appearances this term.

Galatasaray’s pursuit of Alisson reflects their ambitions to remain competitive on the European stage. The Turkish Super Lig leaders face stiff competition from other unnamed clubs, as well as ongoing interest from Saudi Pro League teams, who could offer Alisson a lucrative deal.

With Taffarel’s potential involvement and Galatasaray’s growing interest, the situation will be one to watch closely as the summer transfer window approaches.

If Alisson does leave Liverpool, it would mark the end of an era for the Reds while providing Galatasaray with a world-class replacement to lead their next chapter.
