Mohamed Salah wins the PFA Player of the Month
Liverpool’s star forward Mohamed Salah has been named as the PFA Player of the Month for January.
The Egyptian came out on top in a poll that consisted of Marcus Rashford, David de Gea, Troy Deeney, Leroy Sane and Paul Pogba.
He scored three times in four top-flight appearances and helped the Reds stay top of the Premier League.
He is also the current leader of the Golden Boot in the league, with 16 goals, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Sergio Aguero are close challengers with 15 and 14 respectively. The Liverpool man has a game in hand tonight against West Ham.
Salah won and scored a vital penalty away at Brighton to hand the Reds an important away win on the second week of January.
He then netted a brace in a tight 4-3 win over Crystal Palace, two very instinctive finishes coming from a man who is ruthless when given a chance in front of goal.
Fans will be hoping for more from the Egyptian who will himself be aiming to win the Premier League title with the club he followed from childhood.
Salah will start his February with an away game at the London Stadium against West Ham United tonight. He will be looking to score and put Liverpool back to five points ahead in the title race.
