Ajax skipper and defensive ace Mathijs De Ligt has hinted towards a move to Liverpool in the future. The 19-year-old has been a revelation for the Dutch giants and has earned a lot of praise for his stellar performances since his inclusion in the side. The player has been linked with a number of clubs in recent times and might be on a move in the next summer. The Dutch ace played a very important role in the match against Real Madrid in the Champions League to help his side into the quarter-final of the tournament.

However, the player has himself hinted towards a potential move to Liverpool, saying that he would love to team up with his national teammate Virgil Van Dijk. He said, “Virgil is a player who has experience in the top leagues. Of course you want to learn from him. It’s very useful to play next to him in the Dutch team.”

Speaking about the possibility of joining Van Dijk at Liverpool, the player said, “It could happen [joining Liverpool]. He plays for Liverpool. A nice club. But I’m not focused on this. I focus on Ajax. And then I will see where I will end up.”
