Portsmouth boss dismissed talks of losing Gavin Bazunu to Liverpool

Bazunu is facing a tough test to find a place in Pep Guardiola’s side.

Portsmouth boss Cowley looked calm amid Liverpool rumours for Bazunu. Danny Cowley has dismissed talk of losing the goalkeeper to Reds in January’s transfer window.

Liverpool have been linked with the Republic of Ireland goalkeeper, who is on-loan at Pompey from Manchester City.

Cowley told HampshireLive, “I’m pretty sure Manchester City are not going to want to sell Gavin Bazunu.”

“I don’t want to speak for Manchester City. I’d be shocked if they did, just because of the potential he has, his capabilities. That would be something you’d have to ask Manchester City.

“We’re certainly confident that he’s going to be with us for the season.”

Loris Karius is still in Liverpool’s radar and he is expected to depart once his contract expires in the summer. The Irishman is facing a tough test to find a place in Pep Guardiola’s side.
