Roberto Firminho won’t play again for Liverpool according to Kevin Philipps.
Diogo Jota has returned from long-injury trouble who missed 15 league games while he was sidelined.
Surprisingly in those 15 games, Liverpool won only five of them.
Roberto Firminho has struggled to make an impact this season scoring only six goals across 37 appearances in all competitions whereas Jota scored 10 goals in 21 outings.
Former Sunderland striker Kevin Philipps believes Firminho would be the first one to leave if any of the front three decides to leave Anfield.
“I’ve always said that if any of the front three were to be moved on this summer it would be Firmino and I think it could happen,” Phillips said.
“He’s been magnificent for Liverpool and he still is but he hasn’t scored enough goals this season.
“Jota coming in is like a breath of fresh air and he’s picked up where he left off. I loved him at Wolves and now he’s carried that on to an even bigger stage.
“I’d be very surprised if Firmino managed to get back in the side before the end of the season. Jota is a Firmino replacement in my opinion.”
