Andy Robertson backed his fellow Liverpool player Mo Salah, calling him a “superb” performer for the Reds despite all the rumours about his future
Robertson, despite Saudi Pro League’s late drive for Salah’s services at the latter end of the summer transfer window did not appear to have any impact on the Egyptian international, who racked up two assists in a 3-1 comeback victory over Wolves at the Molineux.
The 31-year-old had received a nine-figure offer from Al-Ittihad, as the Saudi side launched an ambitious effort to entice probably the most well-known sports figure in the Arabic world to the Middle East.
But when it’s all said and done, doesn’t six goal contributions in five league outings this season say it all?
With a display of annoyance at Darwin Nunez’s misplaced ball in the second half of play, the Liverpool attacker made it plain how important the game was to him. He also proved decisive when we most needed him.
It remains to be seen whether our No. 11 will demonstrate his abilities beyond the January or summer window in 2019. For the time being, he does, however, seem to be fully dedicated to the cause at Anfield, and what a cause it is with the Reds now atop the table.
