Liverpool star Mohamed Salah feels that his stunner against former club Chelsea isn’t the best of his Liverpool career so far. The Egyptian scored his second goal in as many Premier League games by scoring a screamer from 25 yards out. His goal added up on Sadio Mane’s header from Jordan Henderson’s cross.
Speaking on his goal, Salah told Sky Sports, “I don’t think, I just feel! Normally I shoot [with the] inside of the foot but this one – because it’s far [out] – I just hit it with power. I was a bit lucky that the ball hit the net like that.”
Salah’s goal has brought him back to the top of the Premier League goalscoring charts alongside Sergio Aguero. Both players have 19 goals each so far. Salah’s teammate Sadio Mane is right behind in second position with 18 goals.
Despite his goal against Chelsea being a possible contender to win the Premier League Goal of the Season award, Salah favours his Puskas-winning goal against Everton more as far his Liverpool career is concerned. The Egyptian forward said, “I will always chose [the Everton] one. This is my favourite because it’s my first derby. I think I used everything good – the strength, the technique and the skills.”
After providing an impressive performance against Chelsea, Salah will hope to produce another strong showing on Wednesday when Liverpool play their Champions League encounter against Porto. The Reds won the home leg at Anfield 2-0 and even a draw will take them through to the semifinals of the Champions League.
