Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri said that having a good relationship with Jurgen Klopp is important for him to perform well at Liverpool.

Shaqiri joined Liverpool from Stoke City this summer. He hasn’t been a regular starter for the club but has frequently appeared as a substitute. Shaqiri has made most out of the playing time he receives, scoring 5 goals and providing three assists so far.

The Swiss scored two goals against Manchester United last weekend as Liverpool won 3-1.

Shaqiri showered praise on Klopp, saying, “The manager is, for me, the most important thing. Also with the move – he wanted me to come here and from the beginning we had some very good conversations, and also funny conversations! I feel very good with him and it is important to have a good relationship with the coach. I like that he is very modest, a very good character and you can joke with him – but on the other side of things you have to perform. That’s important to be successful together and I hope we can have a lot of successful times at Liverpool.”

Shaqiri will hope to produce another fine performance on Saturday when Liverpool take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium.
