Takumi Minamino's Liverpool Future Up In The Clouds After Hassenhutl Comments

Southampton boss, Ralph Hassenhutl would like to keep Takumi Minamino at St. Mary’s.

Liverpool loaned out the midfielder to The Saints last January.

He looked far more impressive as a player for Southampton than he ever did at Liverpool. Minamino chipped in with 2 goals in his 9 outings under Hassenhutl.

“I must say. He was a very lively factor in our game, in the games he played,” the Southampton boss told Hampshire Live. “He not only scored fantastic goals but his mentality and his character really fit into our team. You can see why a club like Liverpool wanted to sign him.

“He did a good job here. We gave him a chance to show up. We will have a look what happens in the summer, we will see what Liverpool want to do.

“There are discussions going on but we will have a look in the summer.”

Liverpool did not spend heavy to acquire Minamino in the first place. He was supposed to be a bargain find but failed to live to up to expectations. Minamino is currently not good enough to challenge for a starting spot at Liverpool. Hence, he should be sold for a neat little profit.
