Timo Werner Not Interested In Bayern Munich Move

Liverpool are within a shot of signing Timo Werner after the latest run of events at Bayern Munich.

What looked like a sure thing for the summer might no longer be achievable for Bundesliga giants – Werner’s switch from the Red Bull Arena to the Allianz.

SportBILD stated that Bayern are edging closer to the signing of Leroy Sane from Manchester City. Hansi Flick and the winger apparently spoke on the phone to further ties before a summer move. Reputable source, Christian Falk also stated that Werner is not interested in playing for any other German club.

That has left the door open on a transfer to Liverpool soon enough. Both Jurgen Klopp and Werner hold each other to high regards and the two have hinted towards a future union at club level. The Anfield crowd will be buzzing to see another star figure added to their attacking ranks.

So far, the trio of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane has done fabulously well but they don’t have any direct competition. Werner would add a different level of scoring threat to an already lethal strike lineup. He scored 27 goals and dished out 12 assists in 39 appearances this season.

There were claims that his Leipzig contract has a release clause worth £52m but none of it was concrete. A player of Werner’s calibre could sell for record-breaking deals which makes this move a bit dicey for the immediate future.
