Of course, there is no surprise that Steven Gerrard is Liverpool’s highest assist maker after the man dedicated almost his entire glorious career to the club. The Reds legend is now a manager of Scottish Premiership outfit, Rangers FC but back in the day, he was known to be a top playmaker.

Operating from the deep midfield position, Gerrard became the very centre from where Liverpool’s attacks used to be formulated. From long passes to key through balls, the man could do it all, not to forget the long-range screamers every now and then.

Gerrard collected 186 goals and 114 assists in 710 appearances for Liverpool.

Steve McManaman

Liverpool have employed a lot of top players during their glorious years in history but sadly, assists were not recorded during those years. McManaman played 9 whole seasons with the club and recorded 68 Premier League assists.

He only ever won the League Cup and the FA Cup with the Reds but he found more success later with Real Madrid. The Englishman was a versatile and technically gifted player who operated both from the wings and as a central midfielder.
