Liverpool are locked in on a battle with Juventus for German midfielder, Julian Brandt

The Bayer Leverkusen player is a top target for Jurgen Klopp this summer due his impressive development in the Bundesliga.

Brandt started out as an attacking midfielder but spent the past few seasons mostly on the wings. He recently got to shift in more centrally and has been highly impactful from the position, dictating his team’s attack in several games.

The 23-year-old has contributed with 6 goals and 15 assists this season and already has 24 caps for the German national team. His versatility on the offensive end makes him an ideal fit into Klopp’s system.

With the likes of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane in the Reds starting lineup, Brandt will have to fight for game time at Anfield but there are still positions up for taking.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s injury has ruled him out for over a season now and there is no guarantee if he will return the same player. And with Philippe Coutinho out of the club, Brandt could easily slide into the number ten spot with Naby Keita and Fabinho setting up ranks behind him.

His meagre €25m release clause makes him a far too good option to let up on. Speaking to Bundesliga’s official website he said, “I’m enjoying myself. I’ve got a contract with Bayer until 2021, so right now all is well. As things stand, I’m staying put. I just want to end the season as best we can.”
