Florian Neuhaus completely denied any sort of agreement with Bayern Munich.
That is good news for aspiring outfits like Liverpool and Chelsea.
Previous reports suggested that Jurgen Klopp was monitoring the midfielder very closely. Liverpool are to bid farewell to Gini Wijnaldum this summer and need a replacement. So far, plenty of names have propped up on the rumour mill but Neuhaus remains one of the more attractive propositions.
“I read that my move to FC Bayern in 2022 was already a done deal. I can clearly deny that here and now,” Neuhaus told TZ.
“I haven’t signed a contract anywhere except with Borussia Mönchengladbach. I feel very much at home there at the moment.”
He added: “Home is a very important point for me. I can well imagine living in Markt Kaufering again later.
“But I also found a piece of home in Dusseldorf [after a loan spell at Fortuna in 2017-18], where I met my girlfriend, and I feel very comfortable at Gladbach.”
Gladbach has a contract with the 24-year-old for three more seasons. He is an established starter in their side and is bound to cost a significant amount of money. Can Liverpool push to get this deal over the line this summer?
