Virgil van Dijk wants to make a final push as Liverpool are edging towards the season finale.

The Reds are scheduled to take on Porto in the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinal on Wednesday. On the back of a 2-0 victory in the first leg, Jurgen Klopp’s side is favourite to move ahead to the semifinals.

The Reds are also brink of their first Premier League title in the last 29 years. They are currently topping the table but their fierce title rival Manchester City have played a game less than them.

The Dutch defender has been the backbone of the team and believes they need to give everything in a bid to reach their destined targets. “It is going to be tough, but it is a great time to be a Liverpool player.

“We have eight games left, fingers crossed, so we have to give it everything we have got. That’s what we have to do now, just focus on ourselves, give it everything we have and see where it takes us.

“And if you think about it, what is eight games? You have to believe. You know, just go for it. We want to reach the final again because that is what we are all here for.”
