Why Liverpool Should Re-Sign Philippe Coutinho For £35m

Liverpool should consider the possibility of re-signing Philippe Coutinho.

Barcelona’s financial state is currently in tatters with quite a few names expected to head out this summer.

Their £140m+ investment in Coutinho has not worked out and the Blaugrana head might be ready to see the back of him. Plenty of Premier League clubs are after him but a return to Anfield would be ideal for the Brazilian. He was greatly celebrated by the fans at Anfield and head coach, Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool reporter, Marcus Banks explained, “For me, I think it’s a no-brainer for the £35m that is being talked about. Liverpool should be all over that.

“Especially when you factor in that you possibly get £15m in for Marko Grujic, possibly £10-15m for Harry Wilson in the summer; swapping those players who probably have no future at Liverpool for a player of Coutinho’s calibre who is 28, approaching his prime, Premier League proven, and similar to the way Thiago Alcantara was signed to just offer something different to Liverpool. I think it should be a no-brainer.”

Barcelona still owe Liverpool a sizeable fee as a part of add-ons from his original transfer fee. They could easily move him on to relinquish any sort of future payments and make a few million off the back of his sale.
